Artic convoy of the Second World War

Convoy QP 6 departed Murmansk with six merchant ships. A German Junkers 88 bomber on reconnaissance was spotted from the convoy but no attack came of it. On 31 January, Empire Redshank was attacked and damaged by other Luftwaffe aircraft. The convoy dropped anchor at the Tail o' the Bank, the anchorage in the Firth of Clyde to the north of Greenock, between Inverclyde and Argyll and Bute.
